This company operates as a holding company of the Borges group and head of the dried fruits division with interests in the production, sale and export of dried fruits. Founded in 1896, the company began its activity in Tàrrega (Lleida - Catalonia) Spain, with Antonio Pont and Dolores Creus buying and selling olives and almonds, typical products of the provinces of Lleida and Tarragona. It conducts business from its registered head office which is strategically located in Reus, Spain. The company started the international expansion plan which goes from the acquisition of agricultural lands to the creation of subsidiary companies in Australia and the acquisition of Star Fine Foods, a leading company in the distribution of foods from the Mediterranean Diet in the United States. The company, through its subsidiaries, has been recognised as the leading producer of foods of the Mediterranean Diet, exporting its products to more than 100 countries and its edible oils divisions (Aceites Borges Pont, SA) has been the first bottled olive oil exporter in Spain since 1998. Meanwhile, the company as a head of the dried fruits, specialises in the dried fruits products such as Raisins, Prunes, Dates and Figs. The Raisins products range from seedless California raisins to Muscat raisins. The Prunes products are characterized by their fibre content, their smooth velvety skins and their sweet, juicy flesh. Dates include Deglet Nour Dates (unpitted or pitted) and premium Deglet Nour Dates. The Figs are naturally packed and as fig bread combined with almonds. Furthermore, the company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Corporacion Borges S.L., a Spain-based company that produces and distributes agricultural products.
